Lee Redding contacted me this week with the following news from Bayer Corporation regarding an opportunity for young keepers and their mentors:
Hi Keith,
Today, in celebration of National Pollinator Week, Bayer announced a nationwide call for the next generation of beekeepers and pollinator advocates (ages 12-18) to apply for the Blue Ribbon Beekeeper Award. These outstanding individuals have created unique projects on their own or with their local communities to promote and protect pollinator health for years to come.
The annual award, sponsored by the Bayer Bee Care Program, honors young leaders who have made a positive impact through beekeeping or other pollinator-related research and activities. Applications are open now through August 21, 2020, and each entrant will have the chance to earn a $3,000 (first), $2,000 (second) or $1,000 (third) place prize, which can be applied toward continuing their beekeeping efforts or a college scholarship.
Since 2013, the Bayer Bee Care Program has recognized individuals and partners who have demonstrated dedication to pollinator protection and educating their communities about honey bee health. You can learn more about past award recipients here.
As an established leader in the beekeeping and pollinator space, we would appreciate your support in sharing this exciting opportunity with young beekeepers across the nation. Are you able to share the application materials and information through your channels?
Entrants can learn more about the award and apply through the link here. For more information about Bayer Bee Care Program’s National Pollinator Week activities, please see the press release below.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your support!
Best,
Lee
